1099 - 1291
Crusader Conquest of Israel
The Crusader period initially was a military conquest in which the Jewish communities suffered considerably, with many slaughtered, captured, or sold as slaves.
After 1110 CE, the destruction of entire communities ceased, as the Crusaders were more interested in ruling living cities than managing desolate wastes, and Jewish survivors began to return to their villages.
Jews were not allowed to enter Jerusalem.
